Publisher Access May Persist During Removal
Publisher still opening after 1 October does not prove postponement. Microsoft now says Microsoft 365 removal occurs on or shortly after that date as the update rolls out.
Perpetual editions can still open and edit files after support ends on 13 October.
Preserve editable files
Microsoft recommends PDF for viewing and PDF-to-Word conversion for editing, with possible layout changes. Its export script needs modification and testing.
Make migration accountable
- Assign accountable document owners, then prioritise recurring, business-critical layouts.
- Choose representative samples that include essential text, images and print settings.
- Compare each converted sample with the original for essential content, layout and usability.
- Preserve editable originals and record a tested replacement workflow before declaring migration complete.
