BlackTree aims to publish accurate, clearly sourced technical information. When an article contains a material error or becomes misleading because important facts have changed, it will be corrected or updated.
How to report an error
Please use the contact page and include the article title or URL, the passage in question, and any supporting source that helps explain the issue.
How corrections are handled
- Reports are assessed against the article and the best available primary or authoritative sources.
- Material factual errors are corrected as promptly as practical.
- Substantive corrections or changes that alter the meaning of an article may be noted in the article and reflected in its updated date.
- Minor spelling, grammar, formatting or link repairs may be made without a separate correction note when they do not change the article’s meaning.
- If the available evidence is uncertain or disputed, the article may be clarified to describe that uncertainty rather than making an unsupported definitive statement.
Updates to developing stories
Technical incidents, vulnerabilities, legislation and vendor guidance can change after publication. An article may be updated when reliable new information becomes available. Significant additions should remain clear to readers and should not silently reverse the original conclusion.
